In its latest report on Denmark, the International Monetary Fund praises some economic policies in Denmark, but in the light of the current financial crisis calls for uypfront action to ensure fiscal sustainability.

"The achievements of the past two decades have been remarkable, but they do not close the long-term fiscal gap. Difficult choices are required in order to make the welfare state compatible with labour market incentives and long-term fiscal balance," the IMF says in its report.
