Denmark has own gas for six years

As the issue of energy dependency again raises its ugly head following Russia's closure of supplies to Europe through Ukraine, Denmark can relax in the knowledge that, for the moment, it has enough of its own gas.

According to the Energy Board, Denmark's North Sea gas reserves will last at least until 2016. This could be extended if new finds are made.
