Former Foreign Minister and current Foreign Policy Spokesman Niels Heveg Petersen (Soc.Lib.) is demanding an answer as to why Danish forces handed Afghan POWs over to American forces, despite the fact that the govrnment - according to a former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State - was concerned about their treatment at the hands of the United States.
"I will now be asking the foreign minister to explain how the government informed the Foreign Policy Committee regarding the demarche that the European Union handed the then Deputy Secretary of State in 2002," says Helveg Petersen.
