The latest figures from Statistics Denmark show that 2008 was a difficult year for Danish companies and many have had to close.
January 2009 saw 443 bankruptcies compared with 241 in January 2008. In real terms, the number of bankruptcies has risen by 85 percent compared with January 2008.
