6,800 hospital patients given wrong medicine

Heart failure, infections, reduced cardiac rhythm and in the worst case death, are just some of the possible consequences when hospital patients are given the wrong medicine.

In 2008, Danish hospitals reported nearly 6,800 cases of wrong medication to the National Board of Health (NBH), according to the Board’s annual report “Unintended incidents” that was published today.
