Lis Hartel, who won Olympic silver dressage medals in 1952 and 1956 despite a polio affliction, has died at the age of 87.

Hartel won international fame in Helsinki in 1952 when she and her horse Jubilee won a silver medal in the dressage discipline, becoming the first woman ever to share an Olympic podium with men.
