Denmark’s embassy in the Croatian capital Zagreb is battling to refute a story in the Croatian media, claiming that Ambassador Bo Eric Weber is considering blocking Croatian membership of the European Union due to a conflict with a local factory linked to Denmark’s Rockwool company.
“The story is circulating everywhere – but it is a lie,” the ambassador says in a phone conversation from Zagreb, commenting on the story that was first published on Feb. 6 in the Croatian newspaper Novi List.
