The Liberal-Conservative minority government has synchronized its tax reform package with its parliamentary support party, with tax relief of some DKK 30 billion and more lenient interest deduction changes than those proposed by the Tax Commission, according to TV2.
Jyllands-Posten says that those who will be affected by changes in the interest deduction system will be home-owners with interest charges of more than DKK 50,000. TV2 suggests that the move is designed to avoid criticism that the government is breaking its election promises not to make life harder for home-owners.
