A majority of Danish voters do not believe Prime Minster Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s assurances that he is not a candidate to take over the secretary-generalship of NATO later this year from Jaap de Hoop Sheffer, according to a Catinét poll for Ritzau.

Some 57.1 percent of those asked do not believe he is telling the truth, 24.5 percent believe him and 18.4 percent say they do not know.
