The latest figures show that each day in January some 238 people lost their jobs in Denmark, with unemployment rising by 5,000 to 64,200 people.
Experts say they fear that jobless figures will continue to rise in coming months, with the Danish Confederation of Industries (DI) warning that local councils will be unable to handle the increase.
