The Minister for Education Bertel Haarder is preparing to strengthen rules regarding cellphones, to allow schools to keep pupil mobiles after school hours. The proposal already has the support of a majority in Parliament, according to Altinget.dk.
“Schools lack sanctions and it is not enough that pupils who send messages during classes have their cellphones confiscated and get them back again at the end of classes. No-one respects that sanction. But it would have an effect on more pupils if they didn’t get their phones back until the next day or the week after,” says Haarder.
