From January to February 2009, unemployment in Denmark rose by 5,500 people in seasonally corrected figures with a total of 69,800 people or 2.5 percent of the labour force out of work, according to the latest figures from Statistics Denmark.
At the same time, the number of unemployed, including those ready to join the labour force after activation activities, has reached 106,300 in actual numbers – an increase of 26 percent since February 2008.
