Denmark’s Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has finally announced that he is a candidate for the secretary-generalship of NATO in a move received with relief across the Danish political spectrum. Irrespective of a NATO decision, Fogh is expected to leave the domestic political arena.
According to widespread media reports, Fogh Rasmussen announced his candidacy at an extraordinary NATO ambassadorial meeting last night.
