Maligned multimedia tax change

A much-maligned government proposal to introduce a tax on work-related and employer-paid computers, mobile telephones and Internet access at employee homes is to be marginally changed.

According to the controversial current plans for multi-media taxation, every Dane with home IT equipment provided by an employer will have to pay tax on DKK 5,000. The Liberals and Conservatives, however, are now prepared to reduce the taxable figure to DKK 3,000, according to Jyllands-Posten.
