Piracy-plagued shipowners meeting in Copenhagen say that promises from the United States to take an active part in anti-piracy activities off Somalia will make a great difference.

“We believe that the United States can make a major difference. The Maersk Alabama case reached the highest levels of the administration and President Obama seems prepared to use all of the tools in his toolbox,” Danish Shipowners Association Deputy Director Jan Fritz Hansen tells politiken.dk.
