Andreas Mogensen of Denmark has been chosen out of 8,413 others to be one of the European Space Agency’s new six-person team of astronauts, the first Dane ever chosen to be an astronaut.

Mogensen, who was born in 1976, is currently employed on a research grant at the Surrey University Space Centre in the United Kingdom.
