This autumn, the Danish Environment Ministry will be releasing 20 beavers into the streams, bogs and lakes of Northern Zealand, where the world’s second largest rodent has not been seen for more than a thousand years.
“The beavers will not just be interesting for humans to watch, they will also be a benefit to other animals and plants,” says Environment Minister Troels Lund Poulsen. The beavers are to be released around Arresø lake, and in Tirbirke, Pøleå river and Gribskov.
