A record 13,794 young Danish higher education hopefuls will be getting rejection letters in the post today, prompting university authorities across the country to call for an increase in capacity for students.
“Everyone knows that investment in youth education is returned many times over. So we should be taking the fact that so many who are ready and willing to study have been rejected very seriously,” says Aarhus University Vice-Chancellor Dean Lauritz B. Holm-Nielsen.
