The second quarter of 2009 saw a drop in the number of working permits issued to foreigners, but it is unclear whether the drop is a result of fewer applications or more restrictive practices.
According to the latest figures from Statistics Denmark, 953 Poles crossed into Denmark with a working permit in April, May and June – some 20 percent of those foreigners afforded working permits. Overall, 4,876 foreigners received working permits in the second quarter, a drop of 17 percent on the first quarter.
