The International Olympic Committee’s 121st session has determined that Rio de Janeiro in Brazil will host the 2016 Olympic Games after beating Chicago, Tokyo and Madrid.
Chicago and Tokyo were eliminated in the first round of voting, while the session's 103 voters chose Rio in the second-round run-off.
