Housing prices will continue to drop, and are likely to fall another 6.1 percent on top of the 14.6 percent they have already fallen this year according to the government’s wise men in their latest report.
At the same time, home owners should be taxed more and should be made liable to capital gains tax on selling their homes. The wise men say that a capital gains tax could be introduced without affecting housing market mobility.
