The Liberal Party is suggesting that nurses should be allowed to make out prescriptions in order to reduce doctors’ workload, in a proposal that has earned the qualified support of both the Conservative and Danish People’s parties.
“We support the idea of so-called clinical expert nurses who would be given special extra training. They should be experts in a particular field – for example medicine for the chronically ill,” says Conservative Health Spokeswoman Vivi Kier, who does not, however, support the idea that nurses should take over the jobs of emergency doctors.
