As one of the first countries to do so, Denmark has announced that it is pledging DKK 1.2 billion at the COP15 Climate Summit for climate efforts in developing countries between 2010 and 2012 – provided that other countries also cough up.

“This is an important contribution to reaching a new climate agreement and increasing the pressure on the other countries to come to Copenhagen with concrete figures,” a foreign ministry news release says.
