Thousands of demonstrators have begun their six kilometre, three hour climate march from the centre of Copenhagen to the COP15 Climate Summit venue at the Bella Center to urge the world’s leades to reach a binding climate agreement next week. Estimates of numbers vary considerably - from 100,000 by participating organisationes and between 25,000 and 30,000 by the police.
A total of 438 organisations from 67 countries are behind the march, ranging from large global organisations to a small fisherman’s organisation from Bangladesh.
