The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has attempted to put a lid on the contentious issue of long-term climate funding by suggesting in the Financial Times that a Climate Agreement can be reached in Copenhagen without final agreement on long-term funding for developing nations.

“We can start next year discussing this matter,” Ban Ki-moon says while at the same time stressing the need for financial support to developing nations.
