A rebellion has broken out in the ranks of the governing Liberal Party against the government’s move to introduce obligatory food in pre-schools, with senior and rank and file Liberals calling on the government to drop the move. The Liberal Alliance Party, which introduced the idea of the scheme, has also called for its removal.

“As far as I am concerned, this is actually pure socialism,” Parliamentary Speaker Thor Pedersen (Lib) tells Jyllands-Posten.
