When Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen returned from a brief cycling vacation last week and faced the media, there was little doubt in his mind that his government is currently facing an uphill battle on several fronts - not least a current scandal involving leaked secret defence information.

“The case is a burden on everybody,” Løkke Rasmussen told the media after attending a Foreign Policy Committee meeting, adding that he soon wanted to see a smoking gun – proof of alleged misconduct in the defence ministry.
