Last year saw 32,934 couples promise themselves in marriage – a drop of 12 percent on 2008 and the lowest number of weddings in Denmark since 1993, according to the latest statistics from Statistics Denmark.
The drop in the number of weddings is as significant among first-time marriages as in those who marry a second time or more.
