Two serving Roman Catholic priests have been suspended from pastoral duties as inquiries into alleged abuses some 20 years ago get under way.
In one case, the cleric concerned has denied the allegations, asked to be suspended and has contacted police authorities himself. The other suspension has emanated from diocesan authorities who have reported the case to the police. The reaction of this second priest to allegations has not been made public.
