Emergency aid is finally flooding into the southern Kyrgyz city of Osh, which since last Thursday has been the centre of open ethnic war.
The fighting has abated, but foreigners, who do not believe the drama is over, are still being evacuated. Unfortunately they have good reason to be concerned.
