The attorney-general has applied to Justice Minister Lars Barfoed to lift the parliamentary immunity of Danish People’s Party MP Jesper Langballe in connection with allegations of racist remarks about Muslim fathers.
The case involves a written response in Berlingske Tidende in January this year in which Langballe lent his support to Chairman Lars Hedegaard of the Freedom of the Press Society who had been criticised for saying that Muslim fathers rape their daughters.
