Domestic violence help doubles

The Danner Advice and Crisis Centre has seen the number of women seeking its advice and protection double in the past five years to a 2009 figure of 1,907, although the increase is thought to be as a result of increased awareness.

“We hope that the many approaches are a sign that more (women) are prepared to break the taboo about violence and seek help and advice at a crisis centre. That includes both those touched by violence and their relatives,” says Danner Director Vibe Klarup Voetmann.
