Despite a controversial tax issue, the Social Democratic Leader Helle Thorning Schmidt has largely maintained a high level of electoral support, according to the most recent poll for MetroXpress.
The YouGov Zapera poll shows the Social Democrats down 1.5 percent at 27.3 percent and Thorning-Schmidt maintains her position as the second most popular party leader after her ally Villy Søvndal of the Socialist People’s Party. Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (Lib) and Deputy Prime Minister Lene Espersen (Cons) are at the bottom of the leader popularity table.
