Torrential rain doused southern regions of Bornholm with some 80 mm of rain this morning. Several roads in the Baltic island’s main town of Rønne were seriously affected, with tarmac rising under the pressure of water and manhole covers popping out.
“A couple of streets in Rønne are closed but people can still get to work if they take care where they drive,” says Bornholm Police Duty officer Arne Andersen.
