Billund Airport has been plagued with the whims of nature today – drains were unable to handle torrential rains and lightning struck the control tower, putting out landing lights and monitoring systems.
Problems started when an unusually heavy cloudburst positioned itself above the airport, drenching runways and slipways with water.
