A senior Danish officer viewed pictures on a CD in 2005, which showed the torture-like abuse of Afghan war prisoners, and which he is reported to have called ‘Abu Ghraib-like’, according to several sources reporting on information given to the Parliamentary Foreign Policy Committee by Defence Minister Gitte Lillelund-Bech (Lib).
Abu Ghraib was the prison in Iraq where American soldiers tortured and abused Iraqi prisoners of war. The Judge Advocate’s office is now searching for the CD, which is reported to document similar conditions in Afghanistan.
