The latest figures from Statistics Denmark show private sector labour costs rose 3.1 percent in the second quarter compared to last year, while they rose 1.6 percent overall in the European Union and 1.9 percent in the United States.

The figures are based on a report from the EU’s statistical bureau Eurostat and suggest that higher bonus payments in Denmark are particularly to blame.
