A controversial proposal from Minister for Taxation Troels Lund Poulsen (Lib) would give the Tax Authority SKAT the ability to glean all information from company computers without a warrant and without having concrete suspicions against the company concerned, according to Berlingske Tidende.
The proposal is designed to provide what is seen as more modern and efficient tax controls. The proposal, however, has raised extensive criticism from both the business community and the Data Protection Authority, with claims that it would undermine the rule of law.
