A serious illness that has ravaged wild deer herds in Denmark’s middle island of Funen appears now to have spread to the capital island of Zealand.
In one area, around Sorø, half of the wild herd has died in recent months, according to DR Sjælland. Foresters in Holbæk, Næstved and Slagelse are also reporting extremely thin dead deer. They have apparently been suffering from severe diarrhoea.
