The Speaker of Parliament and a prominent Liberal MP and former minister Thor Pedersen has announced that he will be leaving politics after the next election after a 36-year political career.
“Thor’s announcement is in keeping with statements at the 2007 election in which he announced that there should also be a life after politics... and if the government went to a full term after the election, he would not seek re-election,” the chairman of the Liberal Party in Hillerød in North Zealand says.
