Sometimes attack is the best defence, and while the Cold War is over, there are other potentially hot wars in the future that NATO must prepared for. Afghanistan may not be the last out of area country where NATO will have to act and cyberspace may become a completely new battlefield.
That is one of the central messages from NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen a year after his appointment and a week prior to a vital NATO summit that is to determine NATO’s strategy for the coming decade.
