New figures from Copenhagen Council show that the number of serious accidents on the capital’s streets has dropped by some 30 percent over the past five years – from 320 in the 2003-2005 period to 230 in 2009.
“We have concentrated efforts on crossroads where there are a lot of accidents. Some crossroads have required major works while others have only needed small adjustments,” Copenhagen Centre for Environment and Technical Issues Steffen Rasmussen tells Urban.
