The minority Danish SSW – the Electoral Association of Southern Schleswig – has won the post of Lord Mayor of the German city of Flensburg.
The new Lord Mayor of Flensburg is the SSW’s Simon Faber who garnered 54.2 percent of the vote in Sunday’s second round election, compared with the CDU/Green candidate Elfi Heesch who took 45.2 percent, according to Flensburg Avis.
