Danes are required to produce shop receipts and bank statements when they apply for foreign spouse reunions under EU law, in order to prove that they actually live in Sweden or N. Germany, according to Jyllands-Posten.
The requirements are part of the government’s and Danish People’s Party’s attempts to parry the consequences of the EU’s Metock judgment which makes it possible to avoid the strict requirements of the Danish immigration laws through temporary domicile in another EU country.
