A majority of 59 percent of Danes say that the early retirement system should be abolished, with 33 percent saying it should be maintained according to a Megafon poll for Politiken and TV2.
The eventual abolition of the early retirement system was the main subject of Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen’s New Year’s speech, and although the Social Democrats, Socialist People’s Party and Danish People’s Party oppose the proposal, many of their voters seem to agree with the proposal.
