As expected, Justice Minister Lars Barfoed has been elected to lead the Conservative Party following the announcement by Lene Espersen yesterday that she has stepped down.
The Conservative Parliamentary group elected Barfoed the new political leader of the party, which is within their mandate, while the final official decision on the chairmanship of the party must be taken by a party congress.
