Prosecution and Defence attorneys begin their closing arguments today in the case against a 29-year-old Somali man who broke into the Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard’s house with an axe and knife last year.

MMG is charged under Denmark’s anti-terrorism legislation, with the prosecution arguing during the four days the trial has run that the man intended to kill Westergaard. Kurt Westergaard produced the most controversial of the Jyllands-Posten caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed in 2005.
