The Danish and Belgian authorities have both failed in their attempts to close two legal Kurdish television stations, despite political pressure and support from the United States and Turkey.
Documents from the American embassy in Brussels show that in 2008 the Belgian Finance Ministry sent the Roj NV television production company a fine of DKK 30 million in order to force the company to stop production.
