Cassocks – the long black robes worn by priests for services in Denmark – have become almost as expensive as mink coats, with bishops now suggesting they should be off-the-peg rather than tailor-made.
Each time a Danish priest needs a new cassock, it costs the Church some DKK 19,500 (EUR 2,615; USD 3,542) and bishops have begun wailing at the costs, according to Kristeligt Dagblad.
