Mærsk Line, which is the world’s leading container shipping company, has placed a DKK 11 billion order for 10 super-container vessels with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in Korea, according to Reuters quoting sources close to the deal.
According to the reports, Mærsk Line is negotiating for a further 10 vessels for the same price. The vessels will be the world’s largest container vessels, able to carry 18,000 20-ft containers each.
